Overview
Our annual high-altitude expedition took a two-person crew to a 2,800-metre ridge to document the YOUtopia trail route for a tourism feature — and produced the single most-loved frame in our print shop.
The challenge
Weather windows at altitude close in minutes, kit must be carried on foot, and there are no second takes at dawn. We spent three days acclimatising, rehearsing the composition the evening before, and sleeping in 90-minute shifts.
Approach & solution
One locked-off camera ran a dawn timelapse while the second body chased the human story — the climb, the wait, the light breaking over the cloud sea. The feature ran as a six-page spread; the hero frame became our best-selling fine-art print.
